BU expects more Chinese students

Coimbatore: The new batch of Chinese students who will arrive for their degree programmes at the Bharathiar University this year will be distributed to its affiliated colleges, Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam said here recently. Last academic year Bharathiar University admitted 12 Chinese students in English language department.

Colleges
This year the university will get more students. “Since we will not be in a position to accommodate more than 30 students, some affiliated colleges will be asked to admit the rest of the students,” he said.

Pilot attempt
The three colleges that have been selected as a pilot attempt are PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, PSG College of Arts and Science and CSI Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science.

Admissions
“The admissions will be granted by the university and the students will be sent to the colleges. If more colleges approach us with the required infrastructure, they will also be allotted these students,” the Vice-Chancellor added.
