Anna varsity extends deadline
Chennai: The deadline for submitting completed application forms
for admission to engineering colleges under Anna University
has been extended to May 31.
The forms will be sold and accepted till 5 p.m. on that day,
according to a government announcement.
The sale of forms began on May 10, the day after the State Board
Class XII examination results were released. The earlier deadline
to submit forms was May 26. However, the mark sheets for the
Class XII examinations were only given to students on May 21,
leaving only five days for students to complete their applications.
Also, as The Hindu had reported, students of other boards such
as the CBSE had been anxious that their results would be released
too late to meet the deadline.
In response to these concerns, the government has decided to
extend the deadline till the end of the month.
