Sri Swaminatha Naidu Educational Trust is a registered body founded
in the year 2000 in Chennai with a motivation to impart excellent,
high quality technical education and develop a disciplined and intergrated
personality of the aspiring rural youth of Tamilnadu. The trust is
a sister organization of the Lakshmikanthammal Educational Trust
which has sponsored the R.M.K. Engineering College in a neighbouring
location. To fulfill its objective, the Swaminatha Naidu Educational
Trust has established the Ravalle Munirathinam Durgadevi (R.M.D.
College of Engineering) in R.S.M. Nagar, Kavaraipettai, Gummidipoondi
Taluk, Tiruvallur Dt., Tamilnadu in the year 2001. The college is
spread over an area of about 50 acres. When the College was started,
the whole land was barren with no proper roads, electricity, water
supply etc. The campus is being developed rapidly and asphalted roads,
good water supply with a spare generator set and permanent buidings
are being provided.

The College has permanent main building which has a total instructional area of
4600 sq.mt. An additional area of about 1700 sq. mt. is under construction
to accomodate the spacious well ventilated and furnished class rooms,
drawing hall, rooms for tutorial classes, physics laboratory, chemistry
laboratory, computer center, microprocessor lab, electrical machines
lab, electronic devices lab, digital lab, library, workshops, administrative
office and other basic needs and amenities required for the students
and staff.

A training and placement cell interacts with well-known industries and arranges in-plant training to the students and industrial visits. The cell also proposes to conduct orientation, training and personality development programs, coaching for competitive examinations, conduct mock interviews, guide them in choosing a proper career or purpose higher education .The cell also arranges contact programs, seminars, and will inform the students of the employment potential in various specializations. Further, the cell will take all the steps to invite people from different companies / organization or campus selections.
