The origin of dentistry is long lost in the hoary past of the human civilisation.
By and large, people have not been aware of the fact that poor dental
care has largely been the cause for poor physical health. Availability
of dental care and opportunity for dental studies and research have
not grown proportionately to the explosive growth of human population
in our country. It was with the twin purpose of providing good dental
care to the masses, and opportunity for aspiring professionals, to
bloom into well-bred dentists that the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational
Trust invested vast resources and established in 1989, one of
the best dental colleges in this part of metropolis - The Sree
Balaji Dental College and Hospital. The College is recognised
by The Dental Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to the Tamil
Nadu Dr. M G R Medical University, Chennai - 600 032.
