June 08, 2008 - Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) - 2008

Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2008 will be administered by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for Admissions to M.E, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan Degree Programmes in Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu for the academic Year 2007 - 08 through Single Window System.

Applications are invited for the Single Window System Admissions to M.E, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan Degree Programmes in the University Departments of Anna University, Chennai, Government, Government Aided institutions, the Bharathidasan Institute of Technology, Trichy, CECRI, Karaikudi and seats surrendered by the Self Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The categories for admission under the Single Window System is (1) GATE-A (2) GATE-B (3) Non-GATE / Self-supporting (4) Sponsored categories (Full Time / Part Time for University Departments of Anna University, Chennai).

Application Cost:
In Person: Rs.500/- (General) and Rs.250/- (Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates)
By Post (including postal charges): Rs.600/- (General) and Rs.300/- (Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates)

Mode of Payment (DD):
Demand Draft in favour of "The Director, Admissions, Anna University, Chennai" payable at Chennai from any Nationalised bank. The name and address of the candidate should be written in the reverse of the demand draft.
Application Forms:

• In Person: Application form can be obtained on payment by Demand Draft towards registration fee at the Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai.
  
  
• By Post: Application form can also be obtained by post by sending Demand Draft along with a requisition letter and a self addressed slip to the Secretary, TANCA, Examination Centre, Anna university, Chennai - 600 025.
  
  
• Through Website: The application form can also be Downloaded from the Anna University website www.annauniv.edu/tanca2008 after filling the required details and the same may be sent to Secretary, TANCA, Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025 with DD towards registration fee.
  

Eligbility:
1. Candidates who have written the TANCET - 2008 (for M.E., M.Tech., M.Arch., M.Plan. Degree Programmes) / valid GATE score are eligible.
2. Reservation for physically challenged candidates are available as per the Government norms under Non-Gate category only.

The completed application forms should reach "The Secretary, TANCA 2007, Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025" on or before 27.06.2008, by 05:30 PM.

Note: Women Candidates with B.E. in Civil Engg. / Geo-informatics / Agricultural Engg. and with interest in Water Sector are eligible for M.E. Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) with fellowship of Rs.5000/- per month (for which TANCET is not required). Separate application has to be submitted.
